Devotion is the Destination

coherence healing self Apr 30, 2026

Can I share something with you that I think about a lot?

Somewhere along the way, most of us learned that manifestation was about the destination. The healed body. The thriving relationship. The career that finally feels like us. The house, the freedom, the version of ourselves we keep picturing.

And there's nothing wrong with having a vision. A vision is exciting. It's alive. It's the creative impulse of a heart that knows more is possible. But I've come to believe — deeply, and with so much respect for this journey — that we've been looking at it slightly sideways.

Because the moment we become attached to the gap between where we are and where we want to be, we step out of the present. And out of the present is out of coherence. And out of coherence is, ironically, the very state that makes the things we want harder to create.

The real transformation was never in the arriving.

It was always in the devotion.

Here's the science that grounds this for me: somewhere around 95% of what we think, feel, and do each day is run by our subconscious programming — the habitual patterns, the familiar emotional responses, the neural pathways we've been laying down since childhood. Not because we're broken. Because that's how a beautifully efficient nervous system works. It automates what it knows.

Which means that change — real, lasting, cellular change — can't be a decision you make once.

It has to be a devotion.

Every time you come back to the practice, you are doing something quietly radical. You are choosing, consciously, to interrupt the pattern. To say: not the automatic response today. Not the old story today. Today, I choose differently.

And then tomorrow, you choose again.

And again.

That repetition isn't a sign that it isn't working. That repetition IS the work.

The Refractory Period

Now — I want to speak to something that trips almost everyone up at some point. Because devotion doesn't mean it always feels clean.

Sometimes you'll be moving beautifully, feeling the shift, living in heart-brain coherence — and then something happens. A conversation. A disappointment. An old fear. And suddenly you notice you've been pulled back somewhere very familiar. The body is flooded with an old feeling. The old inner critic is running commentary. The old identity has quietly taken the wheel.

This is the refractory period — and it's one of the most important things to understand about change.

When we experience an intense emotional trigger, our body gets bathed in the chemistry of that emotion. And for a window of time, that chemistry is literally running the show — pulling our thoughts, our perceptions, our choices toward whatever confirms the old story. It can feel like a fog. Like regression. Like all the work somehow unwound overnight.

It didn't.

What's actually happening is that an old neural network just got activated. An old identity raised its hand. And here — right here — is the most important choice point in the entire practice.

Because you can stay in the familiar chemistry. The body actually finds it comfortable, even when it's painful, because it's known. Or you can notice it. Name it. Return to your heart — even imperfectly, even just for a breath — and choose again.

That moment of choosing to return? That is not a small thing. That is the whole thing.

The Practice of Returning

The Boomies I have watched transform most profoundly aren't the ones who never got pulled back. They're the ones who shortened the time between the pull and the return. Who stopped making the dip mean something about their worth or their progress. Who learned to treat the choice point as the practice itself.

So here is what I want to offer you today — not as a challenge, but as an invitation:

Stop measuring your progress by how close you are to the thing.

Measure it by your devotion to the choosing.

Did you return to your heart today? Did you catch the old pattern and pause, even for a breath? Did you show up in the Boom Room when part of you wanted to stay in the familiar fog? Did you choose the coherent response in a moment that could have pulled you straight back into the old identity?

That is the work. That is what rewires the system. That is what — slowly, beautifully, and more permanently than any single breakthrough moment — changes your baseline.

Manifestation isn't a technique. It's a way of being that you practice into existence.

One conscious choice at a time.

I'm so proud of every single one of you who keeps showing up. Who keeps returning. Who keeps choosing, even when it's quiet, even when it's hard, even when no one is watching.

The devotion is the destination.

With heart,
Ali
